How Invisalign® Work 

Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Each aligner is custom-made for your teeth.

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss (or for those special occasions). As you change to each new set of aligners, your teeth move gradually into their final ideal position.

 
 

How long Invisalign Process Takes?

The total treatment time for Invisalign New York City patients will experience averages nine to fifteen months, and the average number of aligner sets used is between eighteen and thirty. Each case is different, so both the time and the number of aligners may vary.

There are some Invisalign NYC cases that require very little correction. The special program called Invisalign Express® addresses those and requires a maximum of ten aligner sets and a minimum of twenty weeks, plus any required time for a retainer program. Your Invisalign treatment will be diagnosed and monitored by an Invisalign®-trained orthodontic specialist. On the first visit, we will examine your teeth and jaws and take digital X-rays. The doctor will evaluate these to determine if Invisalign® is right for you and will demonstrate the results you can expect to achieve. She will then take impressions of your teeth and submit these to the Invisalign® laboratory, along with her instructions. Using advanced 3-D computer technology to predict the changing position of the teeth, lab technicians will create custom aligners for you.

On your next visit, you will receive your first set of aligners and simply insert them over your teeth.

After two weeks, you will receive a new replacement set of aligners and insert them in place of the old. Although you will receive a new set of aligners every two weeks, you will normally only need a check-up at our office every six weeks.
